It’s almost always an account-takeover phish. A real marketplace surfaces account problems inside its own app, not through a “verify your identity within 24 hours” link in a text or email. The countdown does the pressuring; the link drops you on a look-alike login page built to harvest your credentials.

Active sellers whose income runs through one account are the mark, so “suspended, act now” lands as a genuine threat to their livelihood. The message is specific and time-boxed on purpose, a worried seller clicks to rescue the account and only later notices the domain was never the marketplace’s.
